Yesterday morning I witnessed IRC history. I was logged into #CNETFans on WyldRyde as usual, when a Global announcement popped on: the network had been sold. A few seconds later, a second Global: there was a new owner. An instant after that, a Global appeared that we were now on the GeekShed IRC network. The network [...] I got my first iPod in 2007, mainly because I wanted to check out podcasts. There was a tech podcast called Buzz Out Loud from CNET that was pretty good. Sometimes my mind wandered when there was a story I wasn’t too interested in, but the hosts were fun so I kept listening. In February-March [...] WyldRyde is an IRC network. But not just any IRC network. Their site says it’s, “a safe, friendly, easy to use, spamfree, and professionally managed Internet Relay Chat Network with servers worldwide.” |
